Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?

I'm on a blogging buzz. Don't worry, my Christmas list blog sits in the shadows as a draft for now. But it'll be published before the biggest shopping day of the season- The day after Thanksgiving.
For now there are other things to take care of.

Today: #1 OSU vs. #2 U of M
How about those Bucks, eh? I have to see Michigan fans with their clever, well thought up tshirt ideas that consist of switching the first letter of a team name with the first letter in the f word, for example: buck the fuckeyes. For the MSU game I think the shirts said Spuck the Fartans. They are so good at displaying their high class education. Anyways, the #1 and #2 teams battle it out today and I guess I couldn't be happier with the outcome. By a margin of 3 pts, the "fuckeyes" came out on top. I guess I could say Wuck the Folverines but that just sounds stupid. I just have to sit back and wonder, come tomorrow, what will the Michigan fans be saying? I know that for every Michigan loss, there are about 5-10 excuses accompanying it. "Bo just died, the team was too sad to play to their ability." - I pray that isn't a real excuse, for one that isn't practical at all. For two, they didn't really play for him. Another possible excuse? "We didn't have home field, it could have been different at the big house, OUR house." Enough with your big house. It might be big, but you know what's even bigger? The line down Main Street after the game. Let's make a stadium so big that it takes about 3-4 hours to clear out all of the idiots that attend the games. Talk about a headache. Also, if you were really the better team you can win anywhere. And I think U of M lost at their big house last year, if I'm not mistaken. I don't even know what other excuse there could be. Michigan fans are obnoxious, they'll think of some good ones, and I'll give them credit for it. Not being a huge sports fan, I don't know how much more I can talk about this. I do know that MSU football is worse than both teams mentioned. But guess what, I also know football isn't my life either, so see if I care that our team isn't good. I'm used to losing, but as for the "Folverines" (haha) you think you are perfect, so to see you falter a little was kind of nice. I'm not going to lie about that.

Post It Notes
I just want to say that post-it notes keep me in line. In a world that is fairly high tech, with palmpilots and sidekicks and icalendars, I can appreciate the realness that goes into making each post-it note sticky, so that it can be placed with ease anywhere one would like. I know my life would fall apart if not for the stickyness that holds it together known as the post-it. Not sure who invented them, don't really care. I just know that in a world that moves far too fast, I still enjoy and pay tribute to the little things, such as post-it sticky notes. I also know that if I wasn't reminded daily to be thankful for the little things via post-it I probably woudn't have even mentioned post-its in my blog and commented on how great they are. Thank You Post-It company!

Continuum by John Mayer
I also wanted to do a little CD review. In a society today that is highly illegal mp3 dependable, I broke out of the ordinary and purchased a cd. What was the occasion? Not only was it my 18th birthday but John Mayer's newest effort Continuum was thrust into the mainstream for all to grab up. I made a vow to myself back in the Napster days that no matter how serious this mp3 stuff gets, I would always buy the cds from the artists I really care about...and plan to marry one day.
So that leaves me with this, a quick review of Continuum. First I must say, although I am probably a biased Mayer fan, I know his good stuff when I hear it. The JMTrio stuff was good and he enjoyed it, but Continuum is a whole new brand of Mayer.
Lyrically, he keeps his edge. On this album I enjoyed his brief and subtle yet charming political objections. He's still waiting for the world to change. So am I John, so am I. Guitar solos spreading throughout the entire album give me goosebumps and chills, especially when I'm riding my bike to class, listening on my ipod, knowing that I'm going to get an education to become successful and hopefully one day change the world so John can stop waiting. In "Stop This Train", it's bittersweet to hear John stress about how he does not want to get older, or see his parents go. I think so many people feel the same way that John does when he expresses himself through music. I love that he says what we all think and feel. "In Repair" is a hopeful song, "I'm not together but I'm getting there." That is how so many of us feel. The track Heart of Life is just inspiring in so many ways. John says that "pain throws your heart to the ground" but then goes on to say that "love turns the whole thing around, no it won't all go the way it should, but I know the heart of life is good." He knows it's good. And I know this album is good too. Actually, more than good. Amazing! This one is worth buying, save your limewire program for Teddy Geiger or any other Mayer knockoff, pick up Continuum and see for yourself.

I guess that's it for now. I could probably find other topics of discussion or points of interest but it's getting late and no one reads this anyway. So farewell!
