I am fully aware that I have not had many updates recently. My time is consumed with school, among other things. Here is a quick update in an attempt to compensate, although it probably doesn't do my blog justice.

The Bus Chronicles

There are a ton of stories to tell about riding the bus on my daily commute to class. I've briefly touched upon some of them before. The traditional stereotypes, the efficient and sometimes not-so efficient bus driver, and all of that jazz. Unfortunately, I have witnessed a new addition to the bus system. The overly obsessed PDA-driven disgusting couple. To me, this is not just a generalization. This is a specific, precise coupling of two people I have had the terrible luck of seeing not once but twice on the CATA bus system. The first time I saw them, I wanted to vomit. I was sitting in close proximity, and the girl from said couple was combing vigorously through the boy's hair. It was as if she knew he had an infected scalp and was searching for lice with her bare hands. I am not kidding. To make it worse, she would then, at random intervals, shove her entire mop of hair into his neck, as if to "nuzzle" him. He was reading a book and needless to say, didn't make it through a full page. This was my first experience with them. The second time I saw them, I was not taking any chances. I sat down where they were out of view. I just knew my stomach couldn't handle it again. One more bus complaint, before moving on. With recent freezing temperatures, the busses have been packed. I can't help but feel like part of a cattle herd as I fight for a way to get through the bus door before it is too full.

In brighter news, I recently delved into One Tree Hill with my whole heart. One Tree Hill, like your other basic high school dramas is so unrealistic. That is what makes it amazing. Thanks to Mike, I have season 1 under my belt. Now, with the help of my friend Megan, I will be watching, criticizing and enjoying Seasons 2 & 3 all the while juggling my knowledge I am gaining from watching the current fourth season. The basis of OTH is a love triangle (see picture), however there is so much more to consider about this show. One thing I cannot seem to grasp is sophomore marriage between Hailey James and Nathan Scott. It is one aspect of the show that, to me, is unfathomable. The show is still highly entertaining, and time consuming. I love it!

Another new obsession of mine is Guitar Hero II. In fact, it transcends obsession and has broken into a realm all it's own. The idea of
the game is simple, almost childish sounding. Before I knew what it was, like many others who are uninformed, I scoffed at the people standing up watching colored buttons race across the screen as they mimicked guitar playing. Over Christmas Break I was lucky enough to get a first hand experience on the guitar and my life hasn't been the same since. Not only is this game straight up fun, but it introduced classic music to me such as "Free Bird" from Lynrd Skynrd and "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas. I would recommend it, but approach it with caution. The addictive qualities of Guitar Hero are like that of a drug. After a few songs, the room will start to appear to be moving on it's own, and your wrist may become sore.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Yesterday on the bus I was sitting and a couple was standing. The boy was holding on the hand rails above him and the girl held onto him. Like had her arms wrapped around him. And when the bus would turn they would do a really dramatic movement to each side so theywere like swinging together. I wanted to gag
