Anything&Everything.

I have a couple of things to talk about actually which is good because an update is necessary for the continuining success of this blog. What success you may ask? I'm asking that too. In reality no success will come from this. Mike informed me today that youtube will now have a way of profiting money, so look out for me on that in early summer of '07 (tentative). As for now, I will keep on bloggin' (a sort of reference to keep on truckin' except I don't own a truck, and I'm writing in a blog.)

Let's start off with a new segment called Short News Bits. Catchy title, eh? Actually this is just a list of some things I need to make note of, they aren't particularly important but they are worth mentioning. Sometimes they may just be follow-ups to past stories, tonight's short news bits will include some of that.

-On Guitar Hero, I have beaten easy and medium levels and have beaten 30 songs on hard.
-I saw my least favorite bus couple again, for the third time on the cata. It was pretty disgusting to see them again, and I was so close to snapping a picture with my cell camera (those things can come in handy at times like that except I didn't want to look suspicious). Anyway, they couldn't sit by each other this time due to an overcrowded bus. I didn't feel the need to vomit in their presence for once.
-I'm going to be attempting to write a short expose on dorm living and the affects it has on one's health. This will be fueled by the fact that I feel disgusted living in the dorms and I feel there is a lot to expose.
-The Jeopardy Teen Tournament is so easy that it's gross. Why didn't I ever try out when I was in high school?
-I haven't ran into my ex-roommate in two weeks. I feel like an expose is also due about living in B303 but that may have to wait.

What are you "Babel"ing about?
Here is a riddle: What does a Mexican scene reminiscent of Cancun, a Japanese girl's "hairy monster" , and Brad Pitt all have in common? Not much except they are all key components of the movie "Babel". Mike and I went to see "Babel" tonight because it was free and I felt the need to personally familiarize myself with a movie that is nominated for an Academy Award. Due to the ever present irony in my life, as soon as we sat down in B108 Wells, we were surrounded by different groups of people all
speaking different languages. It was as if we were in our own little version of "Babel" which is, to put simply, a culture shock. It reminded me of something we would watch in Peace and Justice to learn about the injustices of foreign governments or something profound like that. I'm just not sure if the movie worked for me. My heart went out to Amelia, the Mexican immigrant that basically got screwed over just because she wanted to go to her son's wedding, which is completly justifiable. Other than Amelia, I just couldn't relate to the characters. It wasn't that this movie wasn't good, but it was, perhaps, too bizarre, and too enlightening of the harsh societies outside of America. It also made me feel like world peace could never happen. Too depressing. One interesting fact: Brad Pitt's daughter in the movie, Debbie, is played by Elle Fanning. What a coincidence that during the movie I thought to myself, "this would be a lot better if Dakota Fanning was a little bit younger and could play Debbie." Alas, it was her sister playing Debbie the whole time.

I'm sure I will have more to say later, but being that it is so late and I am under the weather, it's time for me to go to sleep. Good night!
