With recent public events, people may question my unwavering support for Hollywood's favorite "love to hate" party girl. Why am I on Team Lohan? She has millions of dollars, fans, fame, papparazzi at every corner documenting her every move. I like her because she has managed to screw up despite success. Does this seem backwards? Probably. But let's look at the facts before passing judgement on Lindsay. She has been working since she was 3 years old, which can undoubtedly be credited to her parents pushing her into the business. Her father has been jailed and has abused alcohol and drugs, her parents are divorced, and her only "role model" is her mom Dina who is right there
next to her sipping down the svedka vodka at Teddy's or Hyde. My own mother made the argument that Lindsay is 20 years old and despite a crazy childhood and mother that encourages outrageous behavior she should know better. This is where I disgaree. As "adults" under the age of 21, is too much expected from us? I feel like this is a time in our lives where screw ups are bound to happen, second and third chances are definitely going to be issued and when things don't go exactly right, our parents should be there to support us. As for Lindsay, she never had the college or true high school experience. I'm on Team Lohan because I can't say how many times I have witnessed outlandish behavior in the dorms or saw the facebook pictures of alcohol-induced nights the morning after. Yeah you might do stupid things while drunk, and the pictures are embarrassing (example: picture of Lindsay and Paris) but I think it is a stage that will eventually be passed through. Growing up in the public eye, everything she does is magnified 10x. A picture of her passed out in a car is national exposure, and it reminds me of all the times I have seen normal people passed out. She goes to 21+ places illegally and it reminds me of all my friends who have shown off their fake ids. I for one am on Team Lohan because I know these years can be rocky and that being in the "not yet 21 but over 18 crowd" is a lot harder then it seems. Until you have lived the "beautiful life" she has and walked in her Versace shoes you can't really say how you would handle the fame if you were her.
